Perhaps another cinematic lesson in "How White People Solve Racism" (ala MISSISSIPPI BURNING. etc.). This movie has a heart of gold on its sleeve to be sure, but I struggle to embrace its Lifetime channel brand of manufactured humanism. I appreciate the sentiment, but something about it rings false to me. Great ensemble all around and once again Viola Davis is a movie's greatest redeeming facet (see also: DOUBT, EAT PRAY LOVE). As of now, I'd say she's the best female performance of 2011 for her portrayal of Aibileen Clark.
