503) VALERIAN AND THE CITY
         OF A THOUSAND PLANETS
(2017 dir. Luc Besson) Date Seen: July 31 2017
Right off the bat; the two leads don't have great romantic chemistry. I am a fan of DeHaan but I think he's slightly miscast here as Valerian;
Replacing him with a Zac Efron, Dacre Montgomery, or even
Harry Shum Jr. might've improved this by 20%. Thankfully all of the space opera stuff is handled splendidly & judging the film for what it is (rather than what I want it to be), I think Luc Besson did a pretty good job

490) WISH UPON
(2017 dir. John R. Leonetti) Date Seen: July 26 2017
It's rated PG-13 yet I can't think of anyone above 9 years old that any of this would actually scare. Maybe a very sheltered teenager would respond differently. idk.. There're honestly Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes spookier than this. WISH UPON's at least well paced & looks really good? (Leonetti used to be a d.p.)

That damn Monkey's Paw slapped me across the face!

489) TEX
    AND THE LORD OF THE DEEP
(1985 dir. Duccio Tessari) Date Seen: July 26 2017

Easily one of the worst comic book to film adaptations
