(2024 dir. Kiyotaka Oshiyama) Date Seen: October 10 2024Kiyotaka Oshiyama's newest struck a delicate chord with me personally. It understands that nostalgia is never just remembrance—it's an act of mourning for every unrealized version of ourselves. Like Kieslowski's BLIND CHANCE when I first discovered that, I haven't been able to stop thinking about this damn movie. & I wonder if i could emotionally handle the one-shot.

THE TOMB OF DRACULA
(1980 dir. Minoru Okazaki) Date Seen: October 10 2024#31DaysOfHorror2024
I can't even begin to imagine how "Marvel Dracula" fans felt seeing this for the first time in the 80s. 🤣
I'm personally thankful for all the batshit moments.. If an adaptation of a beloved source material is going to end up flawed anyway, I'd rather it be a chaotic mess than a generic mess.

(1984 dir. Takashi Ito) Date Seen: October 10 2024Every burst of light briefly resurrects the room before plunging it back into darkness; hence the title "GHOST".. The images feel like memories materializing and decaying in real time.
