555) KINGS OF PASTRY
(2010 dir. D.A. Pennebaker) Date Seen: December 31 2010
The meticulousness of these artists makes the people on Top Chef look 2nd rate.
554) CHEYENNE AUTUMN
(1964 dir. John Ford) 2nd Viewing: December 31 2010
One of John Ford's most underrated movies. I prefer it to Costner's DANCES WITH WOLVES (1990) as far as movies about white & Native relations go.
It's still a drag that some of the indigenous are played by white actors though.
553) PONTYPOOL
(2009 dir. Bruce McDonald) 2nd Viewing: December 31 2010
Between this and THE SIGNAL (2008) I think the world is ready for an adaptation of Stephen King's Cell.. If TV and movie execs are smart they'll buy up any and all I.P. dealing with Zombie revisionism.
552) THE YAKUZA
Paul Schrader's first screenplay?!
551) REINCARNATION
Not as visually innovative as MAREBITO (2004) but just as creepy. American interest in J-Horror died off too soon.. Many of these lesser known titles are gems

**THINGS I WATCHED BUT FORGOT TO LOG IN 2010**
I'm trying to be better about remembering to notate the short films & music videos I see. I still slack off in this department.- I'M HERE (dir. Spike Jonze) ****1/2
- PARALLEL LINES: THE GIFT (dir. Rinsch) ****
- PLASTIC BAG (dir. Ramin Bahrani) ****
- THE "S" FROM HELL (Rodney Ascher) ****
- DON'T HUG ME. I'M SCARED: BAD THINGS COULD HAPPEN. (dir. Becky Sloan/Pelling/Terry) ****1/2
