Samara Weaving is always funny & charismatic, but I never bought this dainty little model transforming into a blood-soaked badass by genre decree. The beginning of this is so matter of fact & that tonal shift felt a bit forced to me (unlike the similar setup & shift that happens in YOU'RE NEXT).. READY OR NOT's got a great premise, setting, gory deaths, and a funny curse reveal @ the finale -- but it all only adds up to being something smug & strangely dull.
