Edgar Wright doesn't have the formal wit of a De Palma or Raimi to pull off this type of genre throwback.. Hats off though for at least trying to switch it up & attempt an aesthetic experiment like that.
Hopefully his next will be a return to more straight-forward comedy. Where he excels.
