Felt like a thrown together BEETLEJUICE knock-off.. Jack Black is very funny at moments though when the dumb script allows him to be. & at least it's not fucking RED ONE.

to be clear; none of the sequels are nearly as good as FIRST BLOOD & how solid a text to film adaptation that was. But I was surprised that most of III is genuinely kind of incredible when graded purely as an action object —it's muscular, lucid, & classical in its blocking. Even as the absurd machismo & romanticized geopolitics make it a weird time capsule piece to puzzle over. Especially now that history & its wicked sense of humor have turned all that righteous Cold War certainty crap into irony.
