If you think SNL's Coneheads sketch is the funniest thing ever you might get more mileage out of this than I did.. Some of the humor in it is good but there's lots of repetitive fish-out-of-water bits too.

This had the spark & humor I felt was missing from the RED SONJA (1985) movie released that same year. Led by the ultra-fierce amazonian Sandahl Bergman (fresh off of CONAN THE BARBARIAN), SHE offers loads of nice swordplay & lovably cheesy B-movie world building of the post-apocalyptic variety. As an attempt at social allegory perhaps the film bites off more than it can chew, but at least the filmmakers never treated the source material like they were intentionally trying to make empty exploitation. Imagine Xena: Warrior Princess attempting to navigate a more surreal DEF-CON 4 (1985) and you’re close to this movie’s wavelength.

The d.p. who shot this did a remarkable job at making it look like a slick big-budget thriller (there're some Anthony Dod Mantle-worthy frames), But Lordy is it poorly written & acted. Awkward line deliveries galore of the hammiest dialogue imaginable.
