152) TORQUE
(2004 dir. Joseph Kahn) 2nd Viewing: July 24 2010I wish Kahn would make another feature film.. Him, Hype Williams, & Carl Erik Rinsch have always made some the coolest music vids & commercials on the planet, that have rightfully garnered oodles of proper respect-- but for whatever reasons they just haven't been as lucky breaking into full length motion pictures like other short film cohorts (Gondry, Jonze, etc). I once heard someone describe TORQUE as "George Miller does FAST AND THE FURIOUS", but I've always felt it's much more in the ballpark of Hark Tsui doing Road Rash '91 (Sega Genesis). & even that analogy doesn't accurately convey the absurdism level.
