In high school I used to tell people I liked Orson
Welles's CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT (1966) more
than CITIZEN KANE (1941). Just to sound cool,
contrarian, & learned I guess.. But the thing was that
movie hadn't been available for decades & I had
never seen it. Wasn't even available to watch on
VHS- and Youtube was new and no one had
uploaded a bootleg

Multiplex owners could invest in training traditional
projectionists & screen things in 35mm (or 70mm) until
digital projectors reach a higher resolution. Don't buy cheap-o
projectors just to save a buck. It looks horrible, especially on
3D films. Also always have a staff member
on call who can eject disruptive viewers &
people playing on their cellphones. Moviegoers could improve
cinemas by actually going to more movies & being courteous
once they're there.
