Viewing Journal: 4/24/2022

260) LIGHT IS CALLING
(2004 dir. Bill Morrison) Date Seen: April 24 2022

Piercingly radiant in how vibrant it looks while making the viewer feel uniquely blue.. If decaying celluloid images were an
analogy for worsening dementia, this film is as affective as The Caretaker's "Everywhere at the End of Time" project ðŸ’”..

259)
CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED
(1964 dir. Anton Leader) Date Seen: April 24 2022

Directorially & photographically speaking, this was even better than VILLAGE OF.. It's just not blessed with the tightness of that first one's script. Also rural country is always a bit spookier
for me personally than a city setting. Adding this to my Favourite Horror Films of the 1960s asap.

258) A DIFFICULT LIFE
(1961 dir. Dino Risi) Date Seen: April 24 2022

I was genuinely surprised by the way the film remains defiantly humorous through what other films would have depicted as soul-crushing disappointments. Risi's one of the most underrated storytellers.

257) SWING YOU SINNERS!
(1930 dir. Dave Fleischer) Date Seen: April 24 2022

even more traumatizing than BIMBO'S INITIATION (1931). Little guy is still in therapy to this day trying to get over what he went through.. Get well soon, Bimbo.
