The one-two-punch of Chow's CONQUERING DEMONS (2014) and Hark Tsui's DEMONS STRIKE BACK (2017) together make for my personal favorite screen versions of the Journey to the West 西遊記 novel. But this early anime + China's HAVOC IN HEAVEN (1963) are also very worthy counterparts. For younger viewers, these might be better entry-level versions of the story.. For what it's worth; so far I've appreciated each variation's individual take on the myth
